THIS WAS MY MOTHER FAVORITE PIECE. HER ITALIAN RENAISSANCE LADY. SHE RECEIVED THIS AS A WEDDING GIFT IN 1944. SHE WAS TOLD IT WAS MADE IN ITALY. ALTHOUGH THE WRITING HAS FADED ON THE BOTTOM I CAN MAKE OUT - LE BERTETTI - TURIN - MADE IN ITALY - 'MI LADY' - THEN THE FOIL STICKER. I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS LENCI. SHE IS APPROX 24 INCHES TALL. I WOULD LOVE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE FACTORY & THE ARTIST. I HAVE BEEN TOLD SHE MAY BE WORTH SERIOUS MONEY BUT THAT IS NOT THE NO.1 THOUGHT IN MY MIND. EVERY TIME I SEE IT I THINK OF MY MOTHER. I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT AS MUCH AS WE HAVE.

It's not the Lenci sticker .... it looks to be Le Bertetti.

Mind you Clelia Bertetti did work at Lenci for some five years.

      Clelia Bertetti Torino 1904-1995. Sculptor.

Clelia worked at Lenci from 1927 to 1932. Some of her work at Lenci was done with Mario Sturani. She worked there as "capo del reparto del ritocco". Clelia Bertetti was the first of the workers at Lenci to leave and set up her own works with the help of Piero Ducato called : Le Bertetti.

Clelia's firm normally signed with 'LeB'.
