here is my gorgeous clear and green cut glass/crystal bottle
have no idea what it is, or how old it is, bought at a garage sale
can anyone help me work out what it is, and who the maker is,
not sure if makers mark is initials or eastern symbol
It came with a stopper and scoop (brass, non magnetised) with little jewel-like ornamentation, see attached picture.
The man who previously owned it had a large snuff bottle collection
any info would be most appreciated, thanks, Deb (Melbourne, Australia)
hi Deb,glad you found this great group.I am sure someone will be able to help identify this very pretty piece.
CheersRose
what about a pic of the lid that was with it.Very pretty jewelled. You can edit this post and maybe remove one of the id stamp.
I hope you dont mind the input.
thanks Rose, i'm now looking at the monogram initials on the base, hopefully something will turn up sooner than later
i may have found the maker.Austrian Weiner Werkstatte 1903.-1932

Karen. Racer4 four if you are around can you take a peek at id ing this little snuff bottle?
Chinese glass or not?
cheers rose
[Post 4] said you may have found the maker mark....Austrian Weiner Werkstatte.
I notice Sean posted a *Ceramic* vase of Austrian Weiner Werkstatte, and the mark is there for you to see. His is ceramic, and yours is Glass. Did they do both?? Your mark still looks different to me....Just MY opinion.

i caught the very end of an Antiques Roadshow episode on ABC on Friday, melbourne, afternoon. as i turned the station to ABC, it showed a signature, similar to the one here, they said J. L. Longmuir?, Venice?? was going to contact ABC to find out the episode number and rewatch to get the exact info. it was an antique glass they were discussing. And .... i went into an antique shop yesterday, found a beautiful 'Victorian' perfume vial, no signatures, $400, Similar glass and colour, with a silver cap and a crystal plunger under the cap, exquisite. perhaps same manufacturer???? its still eating me up lol
lol...me to Deb.....
Hahaha
I just happened to be on here same time as you.
I saw part of the show but missed most of it

I just popped on the abc website, they still had the episode on there so i watched it, it was J & L Lobmeyr. i've just googled them, but i think their glass is still too perfect to be the little green bottle. oh well, going now, before i spend more time on it, got a bbq to prepare for. good luck Rose :) Series 35 | Episode 12 @ 52-53 minutes
