Antique Marionette. Notice holes drilled into hands for wires to be attached. There is also a eye hook on the top of his hat. He is fairly tall and difficult to photograph but here he is...
He is from England.
Your collection never ceases to amaze.
Thanks racer... I may be on the next episode of "Hoarders."
You may be right! Do you have a real specific specialty for collecting or just horizonally diversified?
Whatever floats my boat...
Stunning....I would have thought France. Looks like Papier Mache. I (IMHO) think you may have something really (really) special.....maybe??
May we see how his legs are made....etc??
antiquerose, He may have been made in France. The previous owner found him in England I will attempt to get more photos on today. His legs are wooden and jointed. His boots are not exactly the same size. I think that someone replaced the buttons on his coat. His hat brim has been repaired at some point in time. He appears to be very old.
Wow, how beautiful is!!
I think that was made in papel maché too, looks older and extraordinary, a gentleman.
Many thanks for share vl, you are always impacting me with your posts :)
I always love hearing from you Virginia. You are always so kind to me!!!
I added more photos of him today showing how he is made
He’s quite dapper, vintagelamp! 1900-ish? So what if anyone thinks you’re a hoarder! Lol! You just have a love of and an eye for very interesting items! Thanks for sharing!
rancherswife,
"Organized" hoarder is what I like to call myself! TY!!!
