I am usually helping others with maker’s marks, as I love a good mystery! This bowl, about 6” in diameter, has me stumped and need your help. I inherited this piece, but cannot find any information on its origin, and hope someone recognizes the signature. It is marked USA and has 3 letters joined together, which appears read TCC. I have searched and searched, and have seen Native American pieces with similar decoration, but I have no idea HELP!

I'm stumped too Mary . I'm thinking it's probably a studio piece. Those are so hard to pin down. The TCC mark could mean "Terra Cotta Ceramics/Creations or something like that. It's a nice piece though :)

Gosh, that's a tough one. I took a little look around and didn't see any matches. Symbolic hallmarks are always harder, the first part on this one looks sort of like the maths symbol for pi, doesn't it? I'll keep an eye out, good luck with this! :)

I've been thinking about a little competition for a while and I think in light of all that's been going on this would be a good time. I don't want to give any details yet to keep it fair . And I do want EVERYONE to feel comfortable about joining in. I will post details and get it started tomorrow if no problems come up .There will be "A Major Award"

A usefull link maybe as it also talks about identfication by clay:
      http://www.cajunc.com/art-american-pottery#otheridentifiers

This might not be a native american piece so looking outside of that can be usefull. Hope you find an answer soon.
