    Hi Guys
Just got these wonderful cufflinks and I know nothing about them. They are very unusual in the way they open, they fold open and slid onto the button and snap shut. I can't find anything like them on the internet. Anyone out there have an clues.
    Would really appreciate it.

Cufflinks are used when you don't have buttons. So maybe they are button covers?

      Never thought of that
      Thank you
      I'll look it up

      Hello!

Though button cuff dress shirts are much more commonplace today, back when men had style and people actually cared about how they dressed when going out in public, cufflinks were the norm. The era when they were most popular was basically 1940's-1970's. In the 80's, button cuffs became more popular and french cuff shirts were slowly relegated to high end executives and white collar businessmen.

I wear french cuff shirts 7 days a week, but that's just my quirky style. I am a cufflink whore so I am always buying links and wearing different ones daily.

These, in my opinion, are not cufflinks at all. I agree with the previous poster that these appear to be button covers. Possibly sn early version of formal studs used on a tuxedo shirt. In that case, you are missing at least 1, possibly 2 of the complete set.

These would be used on the front placket of the shirt.

They possibly could be button covers for a button cuff shirt to give the appearance of a cufflink shirt, but I tend to disagree as just covering up the round cuff button on a barrel cuff shirt doesn't dhiw at all since its a round cuff and not a gold over french cuff.

Though I couid easily be wrong, I believe these are either studs or some other sort of button cover. Not cufflinks.

Unfortunately, I do not have familiarity with the markings.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help! Nice find!

No problem. I apologize for my long winded, esoteric writing style, but it kind of goes with the name. ;-)

      Good luck!
