This Crown Organ has been in our family since 1911, according to Granny Mary who gave it to us and said her Granny Stone gave it to her before she passed. The organ looks great, but a handwritten note inside the organ told us "Uncle Marion refurbished the organ and converted it to electric". It plays great, but I wish he hadn't converted it.
Now I am on a quest to find out how old the organ actually is. The pedals say "Crown Organ" and on the back of the organ, each of the sections have an engraved number "204" which I imagine show all of the 4 pieces are the original. At the top on the back are three numbers printed in descending order:
95
155
20846
Also inside the organ was a book titled, "Adler's New Method of Instruction for the REED ORGAN" ... price $1.50. The book is signed in pencil by several people with the last name "Garmon" and dated 1915.
Thanks Phil. The organ still works great. My daughter played Phantom of the Opera on it during her last visit here. Sounded great.
