OK I bought this because I like it but I do not know what it is called. I like the way that it looks under the light. I believe it was meant to hold fruit or something (?).

Nice score, vintagelamp! It is indeed a lustre and they still fetch a high dollar, even though the antique market as a whole is soft. I had a pair about 3 years ago that were white cut to cranberry and they were appraised at $800. I sold them easily for $500.
