These are a couple pieces of green vaseline depression glass that I have. You can see the illumination of the green edges with a black light and also with my camera flash. I just wish I knew the pattern names.
I also have a plate two sides are straight and the other sides are scallop. i love these pieces. The lid has a chip, see picture

The second one is the Cameo Pattern by Hocking aka Anchor Hocking made from 1930 - 1934.
Do you know what it means if it is green?

fortapache, I know it is called vaseline glass, and I would think that in those days it was made with some type of chemical that made it illuminate under a black light.
I Just read that it was Uranium, interesting.

I wish that lid wasn't chipped, but I won't get rid of it.

You aren't going to like this but if it is green it is not Vaseline. Vaseline glass is yellow, the color of Vaseline.
The green glass is made with uranium like Vaseline but has a bit of iron oxide added.
