This is an original photograph of Nancy Carroll who played "Rosemary Murphy in "Abie's Irish Rose."
    The snipe on reverse reads:
    Illustrated by Paramount Screen Players,
"When Nancy Carroll whispers, she touches her nose...this girl is Irish ...
    For she's Abie's Rose.

It is obvious that this image was used on the first issue of "The New Movie Magazine" (as pictured).

V/L, just throwing in some patois 101. Pronounced: po-twa (Euro "A"'s for the 1st A " the "is") best I can describe it. Then we also speak papiamento further S. & you will be really lost! Poco, poco. LMFAO!!!!! Papiamento is heavy in Portugee & you can really get lost! "Domie una cervess", is give me a beer but changes in local & can be "do-nomie une cerbess". Then we have French & Dutch thrown in as well to confuse you more. You have to know where to use which terms. We communicate in many conversations in at least 4 diff. languages or dialects everyday. Hope this explains some of my remarks on CW. I often forget how to spell in English. Tourist never see this side of the coin. Understand completely now?LOL!!!

I've lived in the caribes so long that I don't even think about it. Hard to explain! You're in a place & 3-4 languages are being thrown around (often mixed) & you pick up enough after awhile where you can (kind of follow) & maybe even throw something in as well. It's just a way of life here! I admit right now, that Dutch has me baffled! German, I can follow a bit. Dutch, NO! Almost everybody here regularily speaks Eng., so the tourist never know that Eng. isn't the language of the islands. You have to live it to understand what I'm saying. Actually, until I brought it up. I hadn't even thought much about it! Life's a trip!! LOL!! Want to follow it more, my email is on my profile & Vonage is 334-651-0361. Best not go there! LOL! This isn't fb, as staff keeps reminding me.
