This is a Johnson Brothers eight sided yellow dish. There is black trim around the edge and around the center. The center is painted in vivid color against a white back ground. The scene is of two stylized birds with a pink cherry blossomed branch and an urn type container with flowers & a pomegranate. The style feels to have a Japanese influence. This very lovely dish has been around for as long as I can remember...So I know it is almost 70 years old. I can't seem to find anything that even resembles this pattern. The only image that came close was by a porcelain painter...E Keady who painted for Bird of Paradise labels (Not sure if I remember this label correctly...But something similar.) I would love to know when it was created...I'm thinking around 1913? Who was the artist? Does it have value? Etc? Thank You
There’s a similar pattern by Johnson Brothers called Fushan, with the same birds in the centre.
