Added the picture to give this a bit of color .. Front piece is Loetz in a "Venetian" style ...
    On the text extract :
Stumbled across this earlier in the week ... as far as I can tell it has been overlooked for 164 years ... but in reality has simply been forgotten for much of that time!

The above is an extract from a book published in 1851-52 listing the exhibitors at an event that became known as "The Great Exhibition" ... Held in the Crystal Palace in London ... the first of what we commonly call today the "World Fairs" ...

Would love to have a picture of something to go with this .... but at this point in time do not even know what to look for .... (working on it) ...

The listing of Exhibitors representing Austria on p203 includes Susanna Lotz and her new partner ... Dr Frank Gerstner.

This predates Klostermuhle! ... they are listed as coming from Defferink in Bohemia ... It is in fact 5 years before Max Ritter von Spaun was born ... Thought it a useful piece of information ! Think it is a "find" as I have not seen it documented anywhere else to date ...

Think this opens a few more doors to exploration .... and I am wondering if the V&A may have a few pieces from this event ... They certainly appear to have patronised the Loetz exhibit in Paris well in 1900 ...

The Catalogue of the event makes for interesting reading (for the obsessive) and is available as a Google eBook for everyone to view ...

Please note: Pieces in the background of this picture are probably not all Loetz items ...

Love the pieces! Great colors! The only way beautiful pieces like these can be appreciated is by finding them and sharing them!

You've seen the photos fro the later exhibitions here in Australia?

      Hi Vet
Have your link to the Sydney pic in one of my previous posts here ....and there is another one related to that picture in the 300 years of Harrach Glass ....
Also saw a link (? from you) to pieces in the Melbourne Museum which had some Harrach piece(s) ... although would be pressed to place it at present ...
Would be fascinating to fill all of the missing 30 odd years in between!

The Melbourne one might have been Marty, not sure myself! Doh! Kuchinka is a new one on me, though!

      This is an interesting link:
      http://prisma-gallery.com/index.php/articles2/13-article-02

They mention Stefan Kuchinka, in Utekac and show two iridescent glass vessels by Valentin Leo Pantocsek ~1860. Hmmm.

This is a spin off from that article:

      Hi Alfredo
Is an interesting listing of many of the names that are discussed here frequently ...
Posted it at this magnification to be legible ... But there are 2 columns which I think run to a second page ... Did try to post it to the Loetz Collectors Group on Fb but think I messed that up ...
Need a Google account to access the eBook (although you can access as a guest) ...
      Cheers

      Thanks Vet50
Fascinating links again ... From a different (more speculative) perspective that almost looks like an Olympia piece ... From the 1860's!
