I have no idea what type of necklace this is but found some information on line, that makes me think this might be from the 1970's.
I´m still interested in more informationen though. What you would call it? The beads are big and chuncky. The largest bead is about 1,5 x 1,9 inches and quite heavy. It doesn´t seam to be bakelite but some other type of plastic. I love the amber color.
Wow fast answer Val! Thanks. Ok, that's interesting. Let's see what Nadia thinks, she might say the same. Thankyou :)
beautiful!!!
Thankyou Sean for your always so nice coments, thanks for 'love'!
Vetraio50, aghcollect, PatSea, Mikelv85, PhilipDavidAlexandermorris, Racer4four - thank you very much!
I think it's definitely middle eastern. Did you check for bakelite? I have a similar one posted, which I am still a little puzzled about... It's too heavy to be a necklace, so it's probably an ornament of some sort.

Yes I saw yours, agree about similarity. Yes, this is not bakelite unfortunately but still nice I think. Very heavy though. Let's keep an eye open and get back with eachother if we find some clues in the future. I have a clue for one of your necklaces. Will write in your post in a minute. Thanks!
This is a wonderful necklace, Elisabethan, love the beads on it.
Thanks Katherinescollection! Yes de beads look delicious:). Wonder where it's from.
Thanks Sean68, Trey, jscott0363 and EZa!
Is that butterscotch amber? Looks like it but I'm not sure.
Hi Shareurpassion, no it's imitation amber.
Thanks Shareurpassion for loving my post.
CW recatgegorized this post to fine jewelry/ethnic jewelry. I don't know why because there is nothing 'fine' in the material. This isn't silver or amber. The ethnic we haven't yet establiced.I think this fits better under coscostume jewelry.
Costume jewelry.
Now I have found the same necklace model online, exactly alike but that one had one more pair of the yellow beads. They say "Vintage Yemeni Egg Yolk Butterscotch Amber tone bead necklace. Vintage item from the 1970s, resin suspect faturan". That is what I´ve found for now. can´t validate the info though,
Thanks BelleEpoque!
Great detective work.
Yay, nice going, Elisabethan!
Thanks DrFluffy and Katherinescollection!
After searching some more on line 'yemeni bakelite jewellery' I think it might be right this is from Yemen or that area (mine isn't bakelite I think but I wanted to see the style of the jewelry).
Thanks Agram!
Later I have red the book "Beads, an exploration of Bead traditions around the world" that I can recommend if you are interested in this field. After reading this I think my necklace is Maroccan berber.
