When Prellis6 posted a Ruppert Knickerbocker Beer Shadowbox with a pocket watch/clock in it, I was reminded of the Knickerbocker Watch Co.
The Knickerbocker Watch Co. New York (1890-1930), was not a watch manufacturing company, but instead imported and sold Swiss & low-cost production American watches by the New England Watch Company. They would have their name put on the movements and on most dials.
Most Knickerbocker watches were not marked with a serial number, and there are no known import or production records for Knickerbocker watches. Two movements above have serial numbers and two without.
In photo 1 & 2 above is a 12 size, 7 jewel, duplex escapement. Note that the dial hour numbers (4-8) are upside-down.
In photo 3 & 4, are 3 movements with dials. Top one is an 18 size movement with a serial number 7154586, lower left is a 8 size, with a 0 size unmarked dial, lower right is a 6 size movement with a serial number 2677674. All movements are marked Knickerbocker Watch Co. New York.
Thanks for looking,
Dave
