Pictures show on side because I am working with IPad.
This clock worked well but someone I lent it to mishandled it. The bob now sits touching the case floor so pendulum not free to swing. I took the bob off so it would not weigh on the metal stem. Can anybody see from the pictures what the damage is to, and how it can be repaired?

The clock belonged to parents of a friend and when he closed down their home in 1983 he gave it to me. It worked well and had a nice loud gong. I think it would work again if the pendulum mechanism were repaired.

Looks like your suspension spring is broken. You'll need a new pendulum rod/suspension spring replacement properly fit to the movement. You can see a labeled photo of a clock movement very similar to yours at this link:
      http://mb.nawcc.org/showwiki.php?title=HOW_A_PENDULUM_CLOCK_WORKS

It's towards the bottom of the page. Collectors Weekly is not the proper forum to discuss details involved in the ordering, fitting and adjusting a replacement. If you want to attempt it yourself, go to http://mb.nawcc.org/forumdisplay.php?22-Clock-Repair, register and ask for help otherwise I would suggest that you find a good clock repair shop and put it in their hands. Good luck.

Bruce99 thanks and I will probably have it repaired at a good clock repair shop.

You're welcome Sally. That's probably best. They can look over the entire movement and make recommendations to you. They may give you the option to simply fix/replace the broken mainspring if everything else looks good. Every shop is different. If it hasn't been serviced in a long time, you plan to run it, and it has some sentimental value to you, you may want a more comprehensive service done to it. Good luck.

P.S. I meant to say broken suspension spring (*not* mainspring). I had mainsprings on the mind.
