Belknap

Hey everyone my name is Michael and I live in SC. I am 13 and have my own business restoring and fixing vintage bicycles.Me and a friend of mine ride around in his 45chevy and pick barns and etc. I have almost 45 bicycles at the moment; including jchiggins, schwinns,AMFs,Roadmasters, western flyers, etc. And of course I collect a few for myself like my 1940 Belknap and my 1948 Indian Scout. The one I have today is my 1941 Belknap. It is unrestored other then the wheels(painted) and the seat bottom. It has all the original parts.I just put a NOS set of Fisk Deluxe tires on it. The paint it in beautiful shape other then some pits. It rides better then any bike I own.You might think weighing 90 pounds it would be hard to pedal but with the skiptooth and large sprocket it is really easy, rides up hills like nothing. But anyways I found this bike in a small shed outside of Anderson SC I will post pics of some more bikes in my collection soon. Thank you
cool, that was a great find, and it sounds like you are having the greatest time doing your thing with the bikes ,keepit going and good luck,I hope you find some real treasures out there.
if i do ill be shure to post pics
and thank you
13!? Wow, Im 42 and it sounds like you have a collection bigger than mine! I was googling "41 Belknap" and cam e across your thread.
I have one I am restoring at the moment. I just took the tank to bare metal and pressed the few dents. Skim coat of filler then priming...
You gotta find a tank, it makes the bike.
Good luck little man...

haha yeah i know the only tank i have found for it sold for 300 dollars alone lol i will prolly end up selling my 48 indian scout soon and maybe will be able toget ahold of one soon . thank you
Blair and I were talking about this bike last night. It is the same as a Dayton, Huffman. Nice riding bikes.
yes it was made by huffman for belknap hardware company rides like a dream suprisingly with the skip-tooth and large sprocket takes hills very easily, it is my favorite one in my collection
I have 3 Huffmans. I will post them as soon as the archaeologist team unearths the contents of my garage.
haha well thats cool ill be looking forward to seeing them soon
mine looks almost like this
I think this is similar to one of the bikes used in Forest Gump. Take a look at the scene when the bullies are chasing young Forest, and he breaks free of his braces.
