I found these original oil paintings at an estate sale. I was told they were purchased by the couple when they lived in Naples in the 40's or 50's. I thought they were very nice.

I also have a signed Ciappi, with no first innitial, that was purchased by my uncle in Italy during the war. It was my grandmothers until her death in 1980 something! Then my mother has had it ever sense. Now it is mine and I would just like to know a little bit about it. Any help would be appreciated.
There are several Ciappa artist listed in DAVENPORT ART REFERENCE GUIDES. Several of them lived during the same period and painted similar subjects, etc....It would be nice if you could find an initial or first name, etc...
but check out the above source. All of the artists I mentioned lived in Italy too.
My grandparents were avid collectors of anything ciappa back in the 1940s and 1950s. I have several oil painting of the Italian coast, people of Italy, angels and scenes of Paris.
The artist is Carlo Ciappi and all the works I saw are signed "C. Ciappa." You didn't state the size of your painting but current auction sales --- in this market --- are running between $300 and $500 (which includes buyers' premium).
Lovely painting.
I recently acquired two Ciappa paintings that seem to be the artists early works, perhaps "practicing" the techniques of Thos. Gainsborough's "The Blue Boy", and Thos. Lawrence's "Pinkie". I'm trying to figure out what to do with them and if either are worth restoring.
