Japanese Pottery1110 of 1384Early Japanese large pot- please help me identify my new plant potJapanese Vase with Lid. Crackles throughout vase. Tip of lid looks gold plated. Also, gold plated band around lid and vase.

    I have been unable to identify this Ceramic Item.
    Appears to be Japanese Pottery, but not sure.
    The height with lid on is 8" x 6.5" in the widest area.
    The lid measures 5" wide Ceramic is hand painted in Pink & Violet Roses,
    gold gilded throughout the body & legs. There are only three legs.
    There are no identifying markings anywhere.
    Anything you could enlighten me with with be very kind.

      I agree, it most likely is Japanese. It may be jam or preserve pot, although they often had a notch out the lid for a spoon. Probably was made for an importer and at one time had a sticker on it with the details
