I know that this watercolor gouache painting and the other that I am posting are very weird. The people who were with me when I bought the two paintings thought that I had lost my senses. However, I was intrigued by the subject matter and the colors. On the back of this one are the initials "TE" and the # 31 circled. The paintings are in similar frames but I took them out to take photos. Does anyone know anything else about these types of paintings?

They look straight out of Pompeii. A copy of a fresco from Herculaneum?
