    LOUMANAL
    (436 items)

This small 6" signed England pottery vase has fabulous Iridescence all-over and has a cartouche underneath containing the letters SMW or WMS or WSM and the date 1923. There is also a name that reads like ancastriax just under the cartouche and the numbers 2498 above. I tried to find information everywhere I could, but until I un-jumble the letters, I probably won't find out. The upturned rim glistens with rich iridescence. Anyone recognize the maker?

WOW! Thank you everyone! WILLIAM SALTER MYCOCK are the initials and he was one of the artists working at the Pilkingtons Royal Lancastrian Ceramics company at the time. I checked the prices of some similar items and I am still reeling from the shock. The seller had labelled it as ART GLASS possibly because of the lustre which looks almost glassy. I only realized that it was ceramics when on my way back home. It was at a monthly outdoor sale in Arcadia, Florida....a very interesting place to visit. RER(BOB)

Thanks inky! I found this write-up on the company and artists after you experts un-jumbled the monogram. Thanks vetraio50 and surfdub66 for adding your comments. RER
