Well loved dolls!

I recently bought a box of dolls at an estate sale,when I got home, I found these two in the bottom of the box.Bless their hearts,their little faces are so dirty,as well as their clothing.It looks like their original clothing to me,but I'm not a doll expert. In my research I found that they could be paper mache dolls.They have hand painted faces,stuffed bodies,and hair that looks like it has been glued on.They do not have any markings on them.They measure 13" tall.I do love dolls,and would like to know more about these.What era?Thank you in advance for your help!
