When I saw this plaque in a consignment shop/flea market, I thought it was a representation of Samuel Clemons better known as Mark Twain but I haven't been able to confirm it. Is the name/signature on the bottom right of the plaque, the name of the person depicted or the Artist of the plaque? It is a heavy plaque that measures 4" across by 1/2" thick and is made of cast iron or pewter. Can anyone read the name or recognize the fellow depicted. RER(BOB)
He is Ignacy Jan Paderewsky, pianist, composer and politician.

Very good kyratango, I knew who he was just had to verify his signature. My father used to tell me stories about him when I was a child.
I would never have been able to read the name....thank you very much kyratango! What a life this fellow had and what a Career. He died in New York City in 1941 so he is also important to Americans. Great !!
