My wife found this tall tightly twisted panels free-form blown-glass vase in a high-end consignment shop and fell in love with it. It has a main gold colour with rich iridescence and with fiery-red overlays that start at the bottom and trail all the way to the rim. The overlays are not on the glass surface but are incorporated into the gold colour. The vase has a wavy free-form folded rim and measures almost 14 1/2" tall by 8 1/4" (rim). The only similar vase we found in an Italian Glass Ref. book is one by Carlo Scarpa who was an artistic director at the Venini glasshouse. It may not be by Venini so please, if you recognize this Art glass vase, your comments would be appreciated. RER(BOB)

Here is the response I got from the pics I sent:
It isn’t Venini. It does look Italian – either Murano or Empoli. It’s a nice vase, but the pontil treatment and lack of signature are not like Venini. Venini had a polished bottom with a polished recessed pontil in glass that was of this age. My first guess for the vase would be Empoli. My second Murano of unknown parentage.
Some Venini wasn’t signed and didn’t have the trademark pontil treatment. These were the soffiati things designed by people like V. Zecchin.
I truly appreciate your help welzebub....hope to return your kindness. BOB
My pleasure. Glad to help.
