- The Republic F-105 Thunderchief, nicknamed the "Wild Weasel", was a supersonic fighter-bomber used by the United States Air Force. The Mach 2 capable F-105 conducted the majority of strike bombing missions during the early years of the Vietnam War; it was the only U.S. aircraft to have been removed from combat due to high loss rates. It was replaced in the Vietnam War by other aircraft, primarily the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II. - Introduced into service in 1958, it was officially retired in 1984. - Kadena Air Base is a United States Air Force base in the towns of Kadena and Chatan and the city of Okinawa, in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. Kadena Air Base is is currently home to the USAF's 18th Wing, the 353d Special Operations Group, 1st Battalion, 1st Air Defence Artillery, and a variety of associated units.
** Reynold Brown was a prolific American realist artist. During World War II he worked as a technical artist at North American Aviation. After the war, Brown did the art work for dozens of Hollywood film posters including Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954), I Was a Teenage Werewolf (1957), Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (1958), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958), The Alamo (1960), The Time Machine (1960), and Mutiny on the Bounty (1962)
