I scored this beauty yesterday, without having any idea what it is!
Its labelled as a "Brash" but from what I can tell it was made by Haid & Neu in Germany.

Works beautifully, and I love the wire & pulley system used to raise the machine while opening the top of the cabinet!

Would anyone have any idea where I could get more information on it?
Don't care what its value is, as I collect them just because I think they look cool - but I'd really love to know when it was made!

      Brash's was a department store/appliance retailer in Australia. http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1301&dat=19861207&id=CypWAAAAIBAJ&sjid=aOQDAAAAIBAJ&pg=5236,5399171
The red 'L' logo below the stitch length tells you it is a Haid und Neu :) It's in really nice condition.

      Hi Bernadette,
Thanks for that, I was curious if there might have been a connection there - I actually remember Brash's quite well from my younger years!

and as for the condition - I am actually quite thrilled with how well it has been looked after! There are some beautiful patterns in the timber used for the cabinet so I might give the top a light sanding and re-coat at a later date due to coffee cup marks, scratches, etc. but apart from a good clean I shall leave the rest of it as-is.

I forgot to add a photo - but it also came with a box full of different feet, etc. so I'm really looking forward to having a go at making something with it soon!

Did you wind up finding any more info on this machine? I have the vibrating shuttle version, otherwise identical, I would love to find out more.
