Just like fishing, all days are not great. The great days are when your "catching", not just when you're fishing. So it is with sign hunting. The great days are when you seek and find! This was a trip to Las Cruces NM a while back and as we continued to fill our trusty trailer it felt like filling the fishing basket on our hip! Only another sign hunter/collector can understand the thrill it gives to fill the trailer after a successful hunt. Of course the "bargain signs" that we get a great deal on tend to cost us a fortune for gas, hotel, and food to actually get them, but we try not to focus on that part. Then there is the occasional blow out and the over priced replacement tire because we are in the middle of nowhere when it happens, but that is all part of the story telling which is inseparably connected to sign hunting. This was an exceptionally fruitful trip and was filled with wonderful and rich experiences for many years of story telling.
Keep on hunting!
nothing like a good day, as you say ...but a week is better ....lol nice score
Yep! There is really no good way to describe the feelings one gets when he hauls that big fighting fish out of the water or fills his Creel of fills the Trailer with old Porcelain signs or gas pumps. It's just indescribable to the "non hunter". The rest of you guys all get goose bumps just like I do when you even see a full truck or trailer like this! I'm told that whatever we have is "incurable" and there is little hope for us. Glad about that!
