This is mid century modern italian pottery. Perfect condition. I have it at home so I am not with it now, but probably is about 14" tall and had bottom markings. On one side says Mari. I do not know who JBH is but it was handpainted in Italy according to the label in photo 2.

      Thanks Sean68!

I have seen some other pieces on this site too and ebay as well, but cannot figure out who the maker is.

      Thanks LOVELYLEE !!!

Now we know a part of the story of these vases !!!!

The J.B.H mark is the same as those found on many of the bookends and wares here on CW championed by RLWINDLE: J. B. Hirsch.

Joseph B. Hirsch began the New York Art Bronze Works in Manhattan’s lower east side in 1907. He imported pieces from French foundries and sold them to the US market.

      http://antiquebookends.net/jbhirsch_files/JBHirschinfo.htm

I suppose the link between the bookends and these vase is the 'sculptural' form.

The next step is to find out who "MARI" was !!!

Thanks to LOVELYLEE for the stimulus to again revisit this post armed with the STANDEY ARTS idea.
