i inherited this mug from my mother when she passed in 2006. One of the few items she said survived when her mother's china cabinet had been knocked over during the german air blitz on London during the war.
Its a mug 4 3/4 " high with a motiff of elves talking with a squirrel. There are no company markings on the piece. It has a dark blue coloured finish in parts and some reddish outlines and shading . it appears to be made of clay and i estimate it was made early 1900's based on it was a piece my grandmother owned.
Any help identifying this British piece would be much appreciated.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

      I love it!
Ironically, the piece that survived the London Blitz is probably German. I really don’t know much about steins, but the styles of the characters do not look British. Unusual not to be marked from either country
I believe there’s a Breweriana category under the Collectibles tab at the top of this page, where you may get help from a stein collector.
      Good Luck

To maryh1956....thankyou, I appreciate your feedback. I had another comment from a friend that they also thought it was either Germany or Swiss, it's a pain that there is no maker marks. Take care.
