Whether they call it Esso, UTOCO, Standard, American, Pan Am or AMOCO we have the sign to advertise it at aaaLakeside Storage in Provo. Most people are not aware that all Oval signs are not the same sizes and do not fit in other Companies sign rings. MALCO won't fit in Amoco and neither will fit in Carter etc etc. That makes it a lot harder to collect signs and poles. Even some round signs have different sized faces and rings so they won't interchange. The good news is that the Standard series are all interchangeable with each other so putting this display together was a little easier than it might have been. The Utoco sign is a local one from Mt Carmel jct in Utah, but the other signs came from all over the Country. I saw today on Collectors Weekly an original pix of our sign when it was at the gas station in Mt Carmel Jct. Amoco was our last one of the series and is a smaller size than the others & it came from SC, others from MO, Tenn, and all over. Since the fun is in the hunt we really had a lot of fun hunting this part of the collection. Keep on hunting! We still need a Flying A, and a big Richfield with Eagle.
