    The front has a work bag , does have damage to it. It pulls out completely. the drawer above it pulls out to reveal the writing area, shown in another photo.
    That is mother of pearl around the key hole. There is no key.
    The side view has ball feet with little brass caps on them. Dowels/pegs were used to join.
    The picture with the black surface is writing drawer. One of the jars is an ink well the other has holes in the lid and there is a white substance. I've heard it is probably powdered bone that would be used to sprinkle over the ink to help soak up the excess.
