Picture of swan salts with lemon squeezer bases, hollowed out under the base like half a lemon, center salt does not have the lemon squeezer base, sorry, my mistake :):)

Funny how we never surrender to convenience.. (?)
I'm sure these were practical then. But the only thing I'd do w/ these now-days is only put a Safe! Battery Tea-Lites to show it off more. Plus I don't trust or deal w/ lit candles ! And of coarse expensive dimming spot lites on glass shelves. But I still like the effect. Even lit up w/ spot lites. Thanx :..: !!
Thank you for the education. Now I know what a lemon squeezer base is. I can't say that I like these nearly as much as the fine art glass examples you shared earlier. Are these older? The cranberry coloured one does have nice cutting on the edge and the swans are fun but the delicacy of the monot stumpf and the Vaseline with rigaree really are so delightful to me. These have more in common with the ''carnival glass'' shades compared to the Victorian eye candy shades of the English and Bohemian shades of vaseline,Rubina Verde and opalescent etc. to my eye. But I am just starting to explore the wonders of salts, thanks to you. ;o) I have a couple and when my kitchen is in existence again (renovation that seems never ending) I will shoot them and you can see the few I have and use at table. ;o)
Very pretty! It seems as if the bases are more pretty than practical, or at least looking at them I can't seem to figure out how they would be used as lemon squeezers. :)
Hi katherinescollections, I don't think they were ever used for that purpose, just named so as that is what it looked like to someone, my glass swans and most salts way too fragile for any such use, LOL! I believe it is simply a descriptive name.....
