I've been collecting Carlos Sobral jewelry for a few years now and never even took the time to tell you about it... What a shame, isn't it? ;)
I am fond of these colourful plastic necklaces and bangles, especially those from the 'Pop' collection (pictures 1 and 2). I wasn't courageous enough to take individual pictures, but after all, I like having them displayed together as an appetizing juicy fruit salad...
If you want to know more about this talented Brazilian designer, here's the full story:

Betty great post and great jewelry! Plastic fantastic! Colors that are like candy to the eye.
They are fun and joyful!
I totally agree with you: plastic is fantastic! So many possibilities... Thanks again! ;)
Thank you racer4four! :) These come from a country that's full of light and colours, that's why...
Soooo cool... I just recently bought a ring that looks like the one in the first picture. But it's white only. Need to take some pictures and post it soon.
Are the Sorbal pieces marked? I looked on ebay and there are several pieces, but how would one know if they are authentic? Also, do you think these pieces are Sorbal?

Thanks in advance for the info...
Absolutely fabulous!!!!..just up my alley all those wonderful colours...good enough to eat..love them all!...:-)
I just realized I misspelled Sobral... Sorry...
Hey Dr Fluffy! It's hard to tell if your rings are by Sobral on not. But they are lovely all the same...
Recent Sobral pieces are marked like this: http://www.leblogdukitsch.com/2010/07/16/du-kitsch-hors-de-prix-le-luxe-selon-sobral-design/
Older pieces (necklaces and bracelets dating from the 90's and early 2000's) have a plastic label marked 'R Sobral', after Carlos' ex-wife named Rita. And early pieces (70's / 80's) are unsigned.
By the way, Sobral's jewelry's made of polyester resin, not bakelite. Usually, the stripes on Sobral's jewelry are rather 'uneven'. With a little training, you'll be able to recognize authentic pieces according to their aspect, shapes and colours.
Hope this helps! ;)
Thanks very much, inky!! ;)
