This old room key fob is from the Fort Harrison Hotel of Clearwater, Florida. Measuring 2 inches (5Cm) in diameter, it is made of a non-magnetic metal. I think that it's actually plating over brass. It is heavy for its size, and seems really durable. And the design is is in high relief, and really looks like a quality crafted item.
The Hotel has quite a history, originally being run by Ransom Olds, the founder and head of GM's Oldsmobile Division. It was also for many years the Spring Training Hotel for the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team, who continue to make Clearwater their Spring Training venue.
Presently the Fort Harrison is run by The Church of Scientology.
BEAUTIFUL!!
Thank you, Sean! The scan gives a pretty good rendition of this fob.
The hotels certainly seemed to exude class back in "the old days"!
