We picked this very cool large porcelain sign up while on a trip to Joplin Mo and taking a short side trip to Okla returning home. A collector friend had the sign in his sign pile and we thought that the fish tail ends made it look pretty cute & especially up on a tall pole.
The Kerr Mcgee company began in Tulsa back in 1929 when Robt Kerr and Jim Anderson formed the company to do mostly off shore exploration. Seems like they were pretty successful since they reportedly sold the company in 2006 for $16.5 Billion dollars!!!! Wow! Wouldn't I like to have found that much of anything in one lifetime?
Keep on Hunting as they also found the fun to be in the Hunt and it looks like they did a lot of "finding" in the process.
They rented our land for 30 years on a mining lease and never dug the first hole.
Lucky you! You got paid and they never excercized their lease? Awesome! You sold it and still have it to sell again!!!! That is the kind of buz I want!
