Just got this child's fork and spoon tonight. I liked them, so why not? I saw they were marked, but didn't have a loop with me. Got home and looked through loop. As if I'd know ANYTHING about what I saw. I'm still clueless. I can't get a pic of the hallmarks (there are four) to post, but this is what I saw: Something unintelligible, an 18, a 9 and a squiggle that looks like a triangle with an offshoot or an abstract swan, and the word "metal." Each weighs exactly one ounce. Help!
If you can't see the mark, or take a pic of it -- can you draw us a pic (kinda) - and post?
Beautiful complete set -- with Box !!
Thanks, antiquerose! Brilliant! I'll give it a shot.
The marks are going to be key here. If you can't get us a version...then search for silver hallmarks and look at the pictures. There is a difference between American, British, and others. There is also a difference between silver and silverplate. I'll see what I can find with the pattern and/or the box, but those marks sure would be handy.
Dumb question, where did you buy these (country)?
Found the box in France, but not with these handles on the flatware...so it's still up in the air. Nothing else on the box? Or the best pic of the marks (even if not perfect) you can get?
Junkcollector, I bought them in the US. Missouri. Smack dab in the middle. I just uploaded two pics of marks. Another mark is the word "metal." Another mark, I don't care how good the pic is, there is no way to tell what it is.
