These are the first Welz posy vases I've seen with collars and also the first white metal collars I've seen. Beyond that the pictures are self explanetary.

The collars had a lot of grime and oxydization when they arrived. Hot soapy water made little difference. Finally with the collars on the vases, for support, I started pushing at the grime etc. with my thumb nail. It brought back some shine at least and didn't scratch the surface. Might be useful to know!
Great to know! I use my thumbnail to remove old paint spatters from vases without damaging the glass, too. (It is amazing to me how many old vases get little white spots of paint on them over the years...) I'll have to try this technique out on delicate metal, too. The collars really do look terrific!
