It's cast iron, about 11 inches long, has a locking snap, 4 circular openings - outside ones measure 1 1/2 inches, while the inside ones measure 2 inches; patent stamp on back is November 20th .xx11 -probably 1911 ?; side arm has a tapered end and its hollow.
Its an adjustable hobble for horses.
This part is for an early touring car. It mounts on the left and right rear corner at the upper edge of the body. It holds the top bows firmly when the top is folded down. I cannot tell you which car make it is made for.
