This was an absolute find of the day as I had a huge hunch this was an Early Loetz piece. I found this with a fellow collector friend Chris Cope. The dealer had a Loetz in his collection but, this piece he just unbowed and placed in front of me. By, I believe no accident of fate. As I always said to myself...I might just find one of these beauties laying around! This piece stands 10" and is a good example of an Early Loetz DEK I/107. As most DEK I/107 has a different dekor on the Loetz.com site. I hope this piece can shed a new light on further research of the Early Loetz Dekors. Many thanks to Warren for all his encouragement and guidance. As I would never have gotten so far in my knowledge of Early Loetz. Thanks for looking
I think what this shows is that there was a separate series designation for these floral type enameled decorations from the early 1890s that is different from the later "pastry bag" type decorations.
Beautiful!
Wonderful find. The harder you work the luckier you get. ;o) Well done.
wonderful
Many of the "pastry bag" pieces are turning out to be "700"series pieces ... wondering if the Loetz.com Dek index makes a lot more sense if viewed in that way ....
Warren, thanks for the information.
Vintagelamp, many thanks
A beauty and a steal at that price ...
