I found this today at Urban Ore. it's pretty large and i believe that it's very old. not in perfect condition, but an interesting piece. can anyone tell me about it? it's about 9 inches tall x 9.5" wide at the widest point. i believe that the finial is a foo dog.

To me the scrolling pattern of the vines is more reminiscent of Japanese 'tako karakusa'. Google images for that term.

it's a typical Chinese provincial urn. Rare to find in this size and condition, excellent finding. Adore. Probably from mid 19c, not cheap friend, not cheap. It's designed for congee.
