She appears to have no plastic at all. Brown eyes and Auburn lashes. Apart from a wood and metal walking mechanism she seems to be entirely paper mache. She was sold as 1950s but I think she is older. I cant find any marks . She walks really well when you hold her hands and walk backwards, her head moves at the same time and she is quite realistic, she is about 2 foot tall . The top of her legs are wood but mainly paper mache. Her voice doesnt work and the speaker front is cardboard - inside I can see metal. Her nails are pink and there is no definition on the toes - she stands by herself. Please help - thankyou

She is a walker and crier doll . On Paper mache body or composition but face is unclear to me as to what it is made of possibly composition Is head very light weight ?. I assume she has a opening on top of her right ? Her face looks either French made or German and would date around 1920's . Is there any symbols on her neck lower than what you can see ? The speaker would make a crying sound when she is tipped she did not talk. The bellows in speaker have got hard so you may not hear it . I am working on her but leaning to French made .

Thankyou Manikin - her head is very light weight and yes is open at the top . I will look inside with a torch and see if I can see any marks lower down :)

I assume you meant Lot 7083 ? I saw this doll earlier , mine has a much paler complexion .

It will not be marked inside head , Her head can gently be pulled up so you can see lower part of neck for a name or symbol . Don't put a torch in her head ! Where are you located in US ?

I am located in England. I had a good look everywhere with a flashlight (sorry , we say torch here!) and there are no marks. Her neck is quite short and sits in a shallow well attached by a metal hook, all I can see is dust!

Someone from England has said she was made in the 30s or 40s when materials were in short supply. I'm not totally convinced - any view on this ?
