Though I'm phobic of real insects, I couldn't let this one go...
I was the only bidder on it, so...
Whole brooch is 1.3/4" wide and 1.1/4 high.
A neat item from the era!

Kyra how do they stop the scarab from degrading? Is is lacquered?
Hi Racer! No painting on it, only natural colors. The beetle is dried, as in the entomology shadow boxes.
