1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition Post #1:
100 years ago this year, the Panama-Pacific International Exposition (PPIE) was a World’s Fair held in San Francisco, California U.S.A. between February 20 and December 4 in 1915. Its ostensible purpose was to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal, but it was widely seen in the city as an opportunity to showcase its recovery from the 1906 earthquake. The fair was constructed on a 635-acre site in San Francisco, along the northern shore now known as the Marina.
This is “1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition” Post #1 of 4 post.
In the 1st photo, is a little collection of the Panama-Pacific Exposition I have acquired over a few years.
In photos 2-4 is a pocket watch case and dial I acquired and have been looking for a period correct movement, hour, minute & seconds hands & a new crystal, to make it a complete watch. These watches were made by The New Haven Clock Co. The outside diameter of the case measures 1.8435 inches, the inside rim of the opening measures 1.52 inches & the dial measures 1.586 inches across. The crown is pushed down & turned to set the time & is a stem wind movement.
Thanks for looking. Post to highlight the watch fobs to follow,
Dave
