This was left in a house I bought at a tax sale...I have no idea what period it may be from...I find no metal fasteners, other than those used on the terrible attempt at a repair someone tried with the plywood "seat"
The chair is slung rather low, as the seat only sits 12 inches off the ground. I'd love to find out more about it...

      Thanks PhilDavidAlexanderMorris,
Are there any furniture makers in particular you think I might research to find out more?

The chair has seen rework so it is difficult to tell. Look at the last picture where the back spindles join the seat. The seat is not original either. The right side of this as you face it has been taken apart and more or less rebuilt. Your picture show nothing of the back or under side which might be a help. Probably an item to keep and enjoy.

      Thanks Phil.
I found it in northeast Pennsylvania, BTW.
