    Caigan
    (16 items)

Here is another recent find: picked her up with 3 other dolls at an estate sale last month. I've never purchased or collected dolls, but I thought this one (and the 3 others I bought) were interesting and beautiful.
I bought her exactly as she is in these pictures:
No clothing was on this doll.
She is just shy of 16" tall.
    Entire body is bisque.
    Mouth is open/ hollow.
There are no markings ANYWHERE on her body- checked from tip of top to inside MOUTH! LOL

I've been trying for more than a month to figure out how old she is, who made her, where she is from... I now have more questions than answers!!
** a side note- there is a wig that was "near" the doll, but not positive that it went with this particular doll (there were 2 other wigs, loose).

    Any ideas?

She is a new contemporary doll made in a doll making class . She appears to made from a Shirley Temple mold . These dolls were popular to make or buy in 1980s and 1990's As collectible dolls not toys and this one was either made by a student or doll artist from a mold you buy that is blank and you paint and ceramic studio fires it for you . I do believe strongly they used a Shirley Temple mold on this one . They have nearly no value in today's market . I would dress her put a curly wig n her and enjoy her . Since the doll artist or person who made her did not sign neck impossible to know exactly who made her . But it really doesn't matter in this case . Very cute .

I might add on a copy of a old mold they have to remove any markings on original head when they make a mold . It is not a authorized Shirley Temple so have to call her a look a like doll

Thank you VERY much! And I agree, she's cute... going to find her some clothes and hair and give her to my niece.

Your welcome :-). Do you have a curly wig , Since she represents Shirley ?

I think there were a few wigs in all the doll items that I picked up that this estate sale. So I will check and let you know!
