This rose bowl is translucent glass with light iridescence. The base has a design such as you often see on textured Kralik rose bowls The martelé has, interspersed amongst it, a regular shape that is like a four leafed clover. If
you enlarge photo 3 you'll see the 'four leafed clover' shape.
The final photo shows four versions of Art Nouveau martelé. The three on the left are Kralik. A wiser head than mine confirmed that the vase on the right is probably not Kralik. That too has larger spaces interspersed amongst the martelé but they're not a regular shape.
Height 13 cm./5 inches.
I think you have wonderful taste in glass, Beautiful Rose Bowl!
Thank you Shawnl, for the love and the lovely compliment:-)
I call the righthand most one "spiderweb" as it has a clear spiderweb centre towards the bottom. It is a very loose martele. Like a broken web. They appear in pink and blue glass.
Ian, Do yours have an exceptionally highly polished, rim, by any chance?
Thanks for the loves, Shawnl, Ivonne and katherinescollections.
stunning!!!!
What a glorious group Peggy...and your photos, so good!
Thanks for thel love SEAN and the comment!!!!!!!
Thanks for the love Karen......as to the photos, I'm yet to move on from the reception class....but thanks:-)
I just love the greens together like this, the iridescene that shines off them is glorious....great photos!....:-)
Thank you inky.....the flash was suppressed but the iridescence in the group shot is what 'lit up' the background giving the white patch at the front. A 'proper' photographer would do better!
Peggy, I haven't considered the rims to be very different to any of my other glass but I will have a look for you.
Very highly polished on both counts - much more so than those I consider to be Kralik - well spotted.
Cool collection ;-)
Thank you surfdub.....these play to my love of both martelé and green!
Thanks for looking Ian. I totally agree about the superiority over Kralik cut rims. I have two more, both unattributed. Peggy
