Hi Alan, oooh - this is a tricky vase with a lot of history...a lot of people think it is an old piece, but it is actually a modern piece made for Teleflora - the number of times I have seen it for sale as antique art nouveau glass is too high to count...Google "teleflora iridescent swirl vase" to see some other examples. But I do want to say that although it isn't actually old, it is still a pretty piece of glass. :)

Thanks for the info Michelleb007, i am really desapointed for sure, i have to admit.
But we learn by our mistake, i wish it was a kralik, at least i find a nice one(JAR)
Well,,, i will keep looking for nice piece tomorrow.
      Take care.
      Regards
      Alan

Alan, honestly, if I came across this one in person when I had first started collecting, I would have thought it was Kralik, too. This is really a notorious vase - I have seen it for sale for well over $100 - even at a local antiques store. I think some sellers are perhaps being dishonest, but I think that most of them are honestly taken in by it, too. And as you say, we all learn from our mistakes - I have made quite a few over the years, too!
If it helps any, a few signs that this vase isn't Kralik are the lip of the vase - it isn't ground finely and with a slightly angled edge to the main top surface that you would see an an older Bohemian piece; it doesn't show any signs of wear on the bottom of the vase, and the shape just isn't quite right for older Bohemian; once you see more, you kind of get a feel for the shape thing. I haven't seen too many in person, so I can't say much for the glass or the weight of the vase, but I am sure those would be telling, too. (And your jar is a gorgeous, genuine piece, by the way, so you have a good eye!) :)

Well Michelleb007, i really need this, thank you, i really appreciated your help , because i got to say those details, you just talk about, almost make me backup on this one(but for $14.99)i take the chance.
But the top rim, the weight and no wear underheath,,are 3 things i have suspicious on.
Be sure i will be more aware of that.....:-)
      Regards
      Alan :D

I'd say for $14.99 that you got a great deal, Alan! ;)

I worked as a floral designer for 6 yes and this is definitely a teleflora vase! But its def cool and will be a collectible in future years!

Don't feel bad Alan I can't tell you how many times those Telefloral vases catch my eye. They do every decor and decade imaginable. I have something similar in pattern to your vase as well. I'm not sure about mine either. It has a nice pontil on the bottom but, other than that I'm not sure what it is. It was inexpensive so I took the chance too.

Beautiful Vase, could fool anyone. Stunning piece to still use as Decor!! I would have this in my home!

You might want to admend your heading as you have a positive ID on it and so others viewing it (but not reading ID facts) -- Do NOT think this is Kralik. It is what is is.....

That why there is so much confusion out there in the Glass World. Just helps to keep things straight....LOL.....Just saying Great to keep ID/Facts straight with posts.

I still think this is a STUNNING Piece Alan....and will look good anywhere.

@ALAN -- Thanks, appreciate that. When I first started to collect Glass, I would get so frustrated when I would see something saying was this, and not. Still see that on Ebay to date. I have known people tell Ebay sellers it is not what they say, and then the Ebay seller get mad when you tell them. Makes it so confusing for all.

If not sure, just use the *Unsolved mystery* box here on CW when you post.

I LOVE this piece Alan. I think I would use it at my Desk to hold my Pens as it would really make any Desk look very REGAL looking !!!
