Now these two i bought seperately but the strange thing is they are both identical purple so put them together on a windowsill in daylight they are this purple but when i put my energy saving light on at night they both turn blue i thought i was seeing things at first i have heard about ones changing colour with different light but these are the first i have seen of it was amazed :) Sharon
Cool isn't it! Neodymium in the glass.
ha is that what you call it my friend was telling me about it but i have never seen it before i first noticed the paperweight as i moved that there first then i bought the duck the other week it was similar purple but didn't think it would do the same lol is it just the purple colour that does it or is there different colours sorry for asking but i don't know :) Sharon
Neodymium typically just causes a change from blue to purple depending on the light source.
I'm not sure if their are other glass additives that can due anything similar.
