I bought this at an auction for $2. It looks like a plastic mild with 2 pieces because it has a seam. Completely hollow. I have no idea if the stand is original. I couldn't find this specific horse anywhere with any information at all after hours of looking. I found 2 pictures that seemed to be restored but that is all. It has no markings at all to help me figure out manufacturer or model. Originally thought it may be a wonder horse but i couldn't locate it. Can anyone help give any information at all?
Sweet !! I remember as a child we had something like this....
Childhood memories --> Thanks for the Post
That is a bouncy horse and I would say the wooden base is original. They were made for a period of time with the wooden base then went to a tubular metal base. If you Google vintage child's bouncy horse you should find images of them with both type bases. You did well for $2.
Googled it but this horse in particular was hard to find and there are no manufacturer markings.
A wonder horse would be marked on the under side. A Hobson or Sears probably wouldn't be marked. I haven't had these since my kids grew up so a bit foggy. The Sears line (1950's) was called Happi Horse but people now spell it Happy which it wasn't originally called. The manner in which the horse holds it's head and tail are important to identification and so is the saddle. Low end items had a plain smooth saddle while more high end items had a saddle with more intricate design. Too many years gone by but I better get back to it because the grand children are popping out like mad.
I have a similar item with the same wooden stand. it looks exceptionally clean which leads to a wonder if it has ever been repainted, which is hard to tell from here, in which case the possibility of the markings being covered up. the one i have is a Rich Toys Davy Crockett horse on original stand. will easily support a 175 lb adult. i know of new horses that wont do that.
I have a Blazon71 horse marked under belly do you know where it might be from?
