Glassnutt
(11 items)
I have never come across an anything like this when thrifting. It was pricey, even at the thrift store, but I had to find out what it was. It looks very Art Nouveau to me. The glass is elegantly cut and doesn't seem to flouresce under black light. I would appreciate any insight from this wonderful forum.
Beatiful
Thank you all for the love everyone! This pair is exquisite and I couldn't leave them even though they are not my style. My research: champleve, ormolu, gilded bronze mounts, French, Lois XV, art nouveau, 19th century revivals....I am all over the place! Thanks for dropping by Inky :)

stunning!!!
Hi Kivatinitz, Thank you for the link. There are definite similarities in the enameling and wheel carving. Also the angel hair is defined in the same way. Thank you for the lead. I think they are amazing and think I might need to find them someone who can take good care of them. A little too precious for me!
Thank you Seane68!
Kivatinitz your link prompted me to continue research and I think I found the maker. They are French and made by the Maison of Henry Normant who made quality gilt bronze and champleve items 1850 to 1878. The base has the impressed maker mark HN that I found on another gilt champleve item on the internet. The poster of that piece was obviously an expert and wrote about the aforementioned company. I will mark this as found and thank you for your input!
looks cloisonne
Not cloisonné, champlevé enamel :-)
Wow, gorgeous!!!
