Veltex was a small Gas/Oil Company that began in Idaho back in the Twenties. They had about 100 gas Stations in Idaho and another 100 or so in the Pacific Northwest. Most of the gas Stations used a strip sign but there were a few of these big 6' round Banjo pole signs out there. This particular sign was purchased by a friend of ours several years ago and while returning home he had the experience that "never" happens suddenly happen to him! Yep! Driving at Interstate speed he suddenly heard a noise and saw his beautiful and rare Veltex sign blow right out of his Pick Up!!!!! Yikes!!!! That was a real bad day! He has had it sitting in a secluded spot out in the back yard ever since. Just the other day while returning home from a "Hunting trip" we happened by his place and while his wife was showing us around she asked if we might want to buy this old sign. The answer was obvious so it was only the price we had to agree on. Since our friend died just last year we were in no position to "negotiate" prices like we normally would and we even paid her an extra $100 just to be sure she was treated fairly. The bend you see will come right out once we put it in a big sign ring and clamp it down. Yes we did have to touch up a few spots that got chipped, but it was really not a big deal for us. What a great hobby! Keep on Hunting. Come on down and check it out at aaaLakeside Storage in Provo.
