i bought this off a picker in my neighborhood today. He found it in the trash. it appears to be unmarked and is 6.5 inches long by 6 inches tall. i'd love to get some info about it.

This is a Pixie called Aster from the village of Buttercup in upper Vermillion Woods.
Aster is best known for listening to secrets but never, ever passes them on.....
Cute Pixie...
What a darling little pixie! Is it chalkware?
i love your imagination racer4four! you had me convinced and searching the globe for Vermillion Woods and the village of Buttercup! and what a good Pixie Aster is - sort of a Quanyin of the Pixie Planet!
also thanks to DrFluffy and Katherinescollections! no Katherine, it is not chalkware, but ceramic.
Not sure if this helps or not. I had one given to me as a kid in the early 1970s (mine was green and not as bright, probably a garage sale buy even at the time). It was placed on a nail on a small hunk of tree trunk and (originally) placed in a terrarium. I just sat it on a shelf... A quick online search brought me to Brinn's Pittsburgh as a possible lead.
i think it's very early as far as pixies go - right around 1950. the quality of the painting and airbrushing is very good - the best i've seen. i found a couple similar ones online which were smaller and later and not as good quality. i wonder if it is an early Napco, Lefton or maybe a Josef of California.
Its a highly sought after and collectable hottie !! Hold on to that one for sure !
And it's in good condition ? That's a miracle !! Thanx :.: !
thank you FanciGirl and Lambda55!!
What a lovely friend, very sweet and cute!
thanks Virginia! i love this little pixie too! it's in absolutely perfect condition too, which is pretty incredible for such a fragile piece.
